Need Help With Viruses?

Do you suspect your computer may be infected with a virus?

Do you know what to do?

If not, I can tell you what has worked for me. At this time, I've
only used a couple of Virus or Spyware removal and detection
programs. I found them free on the internet, and will pass on
to you anything I find to be of use, with this page.

For virus detection and removal, go to Trend Micro and use
their 'free' 'pc cillin house call' scan engine. It can be found
by clicking here:  www.housecall.trendmicro.com
   Click on:
'scan your pc'. Then follow the instructions to download their
scan engine and perform your own online virus scan.

After the scan engine loads, click the box to scan your pc,
wait for the scan engine to download, then click
the box for 'Auto Clean'.  Now, click 'SCAN'

This will require that you leave your computer connected online,
till the scan is complete. It may take a couple of hours if you
have a lot of files, like me. Take a break while it scans, have
a soda or coffee, read, watch a television show or pray.

After the scan, it will alert you if your computer is infected or
clean. Then you can take the appropriate action. If there are
viruses, worms or other problems it cannot remove then you
can go online to see how, at: www.google.com or, take your
computer for service.

For Spyware, or Adware removal, go to: Computer Services at
St. Norbert College. Once there, you can click on the Spyware
& Adware Removal Software link. Then follow instructions for
removal of Spyware and Adware that could cause your
computer to run slowly.

I've used these links and found them to be safe.
